Waxkeep started with a scratched record and a frustrating realization.

Like many collectors, our founder bought a classic pressing at a thrift store for $3. It looked rough but promising. He took it home, gave it a quick wipe, dropped the needle — and heard nothing but crackle. The grooves were packed with decades of grime that a simple brush could not touch.

The cleaning kits available online fell into two categories: cheap ones that could damage records, and expensive machines that required a dedicated listening room. There was nothing in between — nothing designed for the everyday collector who just wants their records to sound clean.

So we built it.

What We Believe
